My official T25 Results- Womens T25 Results

WELL WELLL WELLLLL!!! I finally FINALLY finished T25--- I did the Alpha, Beta AND optional ADD on GAMMA phase for 4 weeks. And man oh man. I am LOVING my results!

My stats are:

STATS:
I lost 11lbs SOLID! AKA means FAT! 
1.5in. off ea thigh
1.5in. off my waist--
2in. off my hips 
.5 on each calve

I honestly feel GREAT.... even after an intense cabo all inclusive-drinks-drinks-buffet vacation! But I'm so ready to jump back in to #eatingclean and #workingout because that is my M-O! my bread and butter. 


I am SO excited to share these results with you because they are totally doable--you can have results like this, probably even better!

So as MUCH as I want to be able to tell you guys EXACTLY what I did everyday--- it's important to not OVER complicate it. I do NOT count calories, never have, probably won't anytime soon. To me its about eating health, whole nutritious foods, drinking Shakeology® once a day (sometimes again at night for those dessert cravings  ) and consuming food every 2 1/2 -3 hours. I had a cheat meal once (rarely sometimes twice a week) a week and always planned it out so I had something to look forward to! I had a lot of black bean burgers, chicken, fish, veggies, brown rice and quinoa, fruits low on the GI scale, and had a LOT of WATER! 

I only weighed myself once a week, and took progress pics along the way, as well as measurements. I'm a HUGE yogi and love going, so I would try to do yoga a few times a week to stretch, detox and cleanse the body (and organs) and I believe that helped a LOT in reaching my goals. Your body needs to be in a more alkalinized state so you can actually lose weight. When you eat food that throws off your body's pH levels, it becomes a toxic environment. 

Also, eat too little then you run the risk of your body going into 'starvation mode' where it's going to start consuming your muscles vs. fat. Your body will want to naturally hold onto fat as energy reserves, so you ladies, YOU HAVE TO EAT. Start thinking of your body as a MACHINE not just a prize to have. If you want a machine to run and work right, you have to give it the right fuel! 

Thanks again for everyones comments, questions, emails. I KNOW YOU have what it takes to reach your goals, you just have to keep your focus and determination going even when you feel weak! What you want MOST is more important then what you want right now

Costco's BEST Healthy Options

Costco.. the mecca of oversize and over portioned food, gadgets, TVs, tupperware, samples... you name it.

Some people loathe Costco because it can be hard to get in and out of. However, I LOVE Costco! And not because I can't go in without spending at least $100 BUT because I love samples.

But as stated above, its hard to get in and out of Costco without spending minimum of $100.... but that money is going to waste if you are buying crappy unhealthy food.

Costco plays with my emotions. It has healthy options, then it has every cheat meal I could ever dream of. Did you guys see the BROWNIE brittle? I died a little inside.



But let's talk about the healthy options there....

My TOP 10 Favorite Healthy options at Costco:

  • Almond Blueberry Crisps-- YUM! An awesome blend of brown rice, almonds, and  blueberries. Sweet enough and perfect as a quick snack! 


  • Wholly Guacamole 4 pack-- a MUST in my house! I use guac on just about everything, eggs, sandwiches, salads, whatever I can put it on! 


  • Chobani Greek Yogurt variety pack - Need a quick easy snack or breakfast side? This is my GOT TO! I love the peach flavor in this pack! 

  • Seeds of Change (brown rice and quinoa packets)- LOVE this! Throw in the microwave for 90 seconds and you have some bomb rice! I LOVE these, I only use maybe half a packet per meal and it's so EASY! 

  • ALL natural ORGANIC Peanut Butter 2 pack-- Organic and all it has is peanuts! But it tastes amazing. Perfect for my Shakeology! 


  • Kirkland Albacore Tuna- packed in water and it's albacore, as well as dolphin friendly. Easy to make for lunch (tip: mix tuna with guac vs. mayo--healthy fats vs bad processed fats)

  • ICE Water-- if you are trying to ween yourself off soda, well I have good news--this is a GREAT product to switch to. And it's with carbonated water! I indulge here and there! 

  • Giant bag of Frozen blueberries or berry medley- LOVE this stuff! LASTS forever too, I love to throw in my Shakeology or other smoothies, on top of pancakes, in yogurt, or in oatmeal! 

  • Coconut Oil-unfiltered and cold pressed--you can use coconut oil for so many purposes: lotion, hair masks, makeup remover, it goes on and on. 

  • Organic Quinoa-- the great thing about quinoa, it's a COMPLETE protein which means it has all NINE essential amino acids. So eat up, you gotta eat good to look good!

The Scale Doesn't Define You

So sometimes I get these random spurts of "SCREW THE SCALE ITS A TORTURE DEVICE!" and yesterday was one of those days.

Let me tell you ladies something.... the reason I weigh myself is to track progress. That's it. I don't get hung up on the number. If it's higher, that means there's work to be done. If it's lower, that means what I'm doing is working. It's just a way to check in.


And I do it every once in a while (mostly out of curiosity or before a new program I'm starting), not everyday, not every week, and def not AFTER a cheat meal! That would be straight up cruel haha!

So something I shared on my InstaGram (follow me @abbyfix) was this,

"It feels #DAMNGOOD to shop your own closet! I don't care about weight, clothing size or counting calories. I live for FEELING GOOD in my own skin life is too short to walk around UNSATISFIED with not only your physical reflection but also the internal one. I workout because it keeps me #healthy#happy and #sane. I do it for the burn, sweat, mental challenge and physical push. Wouldn't it be nice to slip into some old clothes that were once too tight? #HELLYEAH Ladies stop being concerned with the scale, it's a number that does not define you. I'm not a size 0 and I'm def not trying to get to my lowest weight. I'm trying to reach my highest potential by building LEAN MUSCLE. #strongbody = #strongmindset"

Wouldn't it be nice to not beat yourself up because of a number? Think of it as your bodies credit score... the more you abuse it and don't pay yourself in fitness and eating clean, the lower the credit score/the lower your self esteem.



If you want a high credit score for health and fitness, you have to start making the right choices that lead you to your goal. And they're usually small- choose an apple over chips at Panera, park farther away in the Walmart parking lot and walk, take the stairs at work vs. the elevator, do squats in between chores, stretch in the morning, swap soda for water.

Small healthy choices = ONE big CHANGE!

<<REWIND>> To Jan 2011. I was about 20lbs overweight, which on a small frame MATTERS (I’m a whopping 5’2). Lower Body Burn Out

Alright ladies... I'm going to CABO in TWO WEEKS. That means, BUNS OUT SUNS OUT! AKA... I'll be in a bikini the whole time.

So what does any girl do?

SQUAT.

a lot.

So I came up with a QUICK lower body burn out workout.. ready to die? GREAT me too, lets do this!





K so here's how it goes:

Stretch out real good, jump around, shake out your legs, and warm up. Take about 3-5 min to warm up! 

My favorite way to do this workout is like this:

20 squats with weights
15 Stationary lunge left leg
20 squats with weights
15 Stationary lunges right leg 
10 SUMO burpees
15 Hamstring ball curls
10 MORE Sumo burpees
15 more hamstring ball curls
20 side lunges right
20 donkey kicks
20 side lunges left
20 donkey kicks
15 deadlifts
15 Superman butt lifts 

15 deadlifts
15 Superman butt lifts
and last....
15 bowlers lunges
and STRETCH GOOD. You are going to be sore!


Description of moves:

Squats: pretty self explanatory-- make sure your form is on point! DO not go for speed, go for quality
Stationary Lunges: self explanatory, do one leg at a time

Hamstring Ball Curls: Lying on your back, put your calves on top of the stability ball, and dig your heels in. Lift your hips off the ground (only shoulder blades should touch), and roll the ball in using your hamstrings and booty towards your butt. 





Donkey Kicks: Get on all fours, and then drop down to your elbows/forearms. Make sure your shoulders and elbows are stacked on top of ea. other for proper alignment. Then with your right leg lift towards the sky, foot flexed and kept in a 90 degree angle. Lift and squeeze your booty when you get to the top. Hold for a second, then repeat. Bring leg (still bent in a 90 degree angle) towards your chest, then back up to the ceiling.



Side Lunges: Standing with feet wide apart lunge to the right, then repeat. 

Superman Butt Lifts: Lying face down on a yoga mat, with arms and hands on top of one another (lay your head on your hands), lift your legs about 6 inches and lower, repeat. 



Dead lifts: With feet firmly placed about shoulder width distance apart and a slight bend in your knees, hold two 15lbs (just a suggestion, do what works for you) dumbbells in each hand, then with a STRAIGHT BACK (do not hunch over, this will hurt your back!) lower your upper body down the front of your thighs. Stop when you can't go any lower or if you start to arch or round your back. Rise back up and squeeze your booty to a standing position and slightly thrust hips forward. Repeat.






Bowlers Lunge: Just look at the picture, trying to explain this one is a little hard. Just make sure you are keeping a straight back!
